Basic

The campaign editor does not have the SAVE-button to save entries or definitions. The entries/definitions will automatically be saved when you switch between the TABs.

Start

To create a campaign, find the Campaign Editor under “Newsletter Editorial Staff” in the Main Menu. One major advantage of the Campaign Editor is that you can create your newsletter using blocks or templates rather than HTML source text. Templates may be chosen freely, and used or deleted as necessary. Clicking on “Newsletter Editorial Staff -> Campaign Editor (submenu) will open the following window:

Short description

Before you create your campaign, enter a suitable description. You will need this later on, to find the campaign in the overview. Letters, numbers, and special symbols may be used in your description, with a maximum length of 255 characters.

Subject

Here you will enter the subject line that will appear in the newsletter. Letters, numbers, and special symbols may be used in your description, with a maximum length of 255 characters. Most e-mail clients cannot display so many signs, however, and it is to your advantage to keep the subject line short. You may enter additional personalization here; for example, $$NAME$$.

Language

Select the language of the campaign here. This selection is important for coding the e-mails that are to be sent, because how characters are displayed may differ depending on the language.

NOTE: If you did not enter any settings here, and attempt to select any other index tab, the following error message will be displayed:

To select another index tab, enter the previously required settings.

Selection of recipients

To select the recipients for this campaign, choose the index tab “Recipients.” This will open the following entry mask:

Selection of mailing list

Here you must select ONE existing mailing list that the campaign will be sent to.

Filter

In selecting the target group newsletter, you may refine your selection further by selecting various profiles and BACKCLICK filters. These may be selected here. Those subscribers who are assigned to the respective filters will receive the newsletter when it is sent out later.

NOTE: As you can see in the figures, the index tabs, attachments, exclusions, spam check, and sending options are NOT selectable. This will change when the start time and recipients are entered completely. This is invalid for editing a campaign when the settings have already been completed.
