Substitutions

Substitutions

Within the newsletters you write, certain text sections (e.g. header, footer, publication data) will be repeated again and again. To simplify the insertion of these text sections, macros can be installed. The macro function inserts certain text blocks that you may define. As soon as you create the first macro, you will be able to find an overview of the keywords that should be replaced by certain contents in the newsletter when you are creating or sending it. This can be found under “System Administration -> Macros.” In the delivery status, this menu item will be empty.

You may now configure your own macros by clicking on the -button. This means that BACKCLICK will automatically replace repeated terms and expressions by predefined content. You may also edit, expand, view, or remove existing keywords (expressions).

After having strated the searching process by clickin on the -button you will need to use the -button to upload the file into BACKCLICK.

Save the macro assignments by clicking on the -button. By clicking on the -button, you will return to the main menu, “Macros.” With macros, you may do more than replace expressions and automate linkings. The main advantage of these GIS-substitutions is that they make complex GIS_API-orders (integrated programming language in BACKCLICK) usable by every editorial staff member. GIS_API makes it possible to automate the contents of your newsletters completely. For more information on the GIS-TAGS, see chapter XX, “Newsletter and Campaign Editorial Staff --> Create Newsletter (Pro) --> Individualization.”
